Everyday for all those years I walked on the deck and looked up at the clouds and sky.This book started out as a cloud recognition book. But what my readers really wanted to know was the relationship between the clouds and the weather. Not only what cloud is what, but also what does it mean as a weather predictor.I have included dozens of color photos with descriptions and explanations of how, when, why and what will happen next.From there I looked at what else could be ascertained from the deck of a boat. The barometer gives more useful information. When a knowledge of atmospheric pressure is added to knowledge of the clouds and sky some really useful predictions can be obtained.The wind direction and strength, fog, fronts, relative humidity, the presence of dew, a ring around the moon, sundogs, etc all followed.What I ended up with was an informative and useful book which sailors can use to predict the weather on their own from the deck. I have included a lot of interesting information to help you in your art of sailing. 150 pages. Some technical information comes directly from the American Practical Navigator. I also suggest that you read my ATLAS OF OCEAN WINDS AND CURRENTS. which has published new information on oceanic winds. Happy sailing.
