I'd recommend this concise and easy read for a good conceptual grounding in John Hamaker's Thesis that global soil demineralization is the primary ecological change process of the normal 10,000-12,000-yr. interglacial period (which we're at the natural end of now) during the ca. 100,000-yr. glacial-interglacial cycle of this Quaternary Period. This "natural" process, accelerated by humankind's short-sighted mining of soil fertility and overall ecological vitality to build its "separate" cities and towns, can be reversed by an enlightened and generous human species awakened to its true responsibilities to regenerate and care for the Living Earth - from which we've never in fact been "separate," except in our little minds. Soil remineralization and global re-greening are the survival and health options revealed by Hamaker if humanity wants to help restore the Balance of Nature before Mom Nature does it herself with another probably 90,000-yrs. of glacial remineralization. Hamaker and Weaver's books THE SURVIVAL OF CIVILIZATION and TO LOVE AND REGENERATE THE EARTH go into these topics in greater depth, for those interested, and they can be downloaded for free at the remineralize.org website.
