Taivo Laevastu was a genius. This book is one greatest works available for the undergrad, grad or researcher. This work is applicable across the marine, oceans and atmospheric disciplines.
The material in this book will also help researchers further investigate some of the first data concerning the Pacific Decadal, Artic and North Atlantic Ocillations. Though these climate patterns weren't understood at the time of this writing, Taivo's research and those cited in the book create a base-line of observations and data.
Another excellent resource is the works of Dr. Michitaka Uda, however his work is still in Japanese and needs to be translated.
