Clouds (Ready-to-Read, Level 1) ReviewI purchased Wind, Rain, Clouds and Snow. Wonderful short science books and very easy for young readers. My 5 year old twins love to read their 'science' books. It is difficult to find simple non fiction books for this age group, but these are perfect fit.Clouds (Ready-to-Read, Level 1) Overview

Scholastic Question & Answer: Do Tornadoes Really Twist ReviewI really enjoyed reading this book with my class for information about tornadoes and hurricanes. The book presents many facts about these storms in a very kid friendly way. the format for the book is questions and answers. The book provides just enough information to keep it interesting for student readers. The pictures are not real, but are realistic. I like how the authors write a note in the beginning of the story inviting the reader to read their book. This book will be appealing for students in the upper elementary grades. It is a good beginning book for research.Scholastic Question & Answer: Do Tornadoes Really Twist Overview

Early Themes: Weather (Grades K-1) ReviewThe book Weather in the 'First Discovery Book Series' provides a fun introduction to weather that is suitable for children of a wide range of ages. It is an clever concept to use transparent flaps to demonstrate how weather can change the feel of a scene. Although my son is only two, he loves to flip the clear plastic leaves and watch the weather turn from cloudy to rainy or from frosty to snowy. He has learned many facts about weather from this book and loves to comment on what the current conditions outside are. Clearly, though, this book will be even more appropriate for an older child as it includes fun scientific facts which help them understand a few basic concepts about weather. Thus it should provide entertainment and education for many years to come.Early Themes: Weather (Grades K-1) OverviewReady-to-Go Activities, Games, Literature Selections, Poetry and Everything You Need for a Complete Theme UnitChildren learn about weather with easy-to-do, innovative activities and games.Plus poster.
