We need rain in order for our crops to grow, but if there is too much it can also devastate them. Around the world we experience hailstorms, tornados, sandstorms, blizzards, monsoons, hurricanes, thunder and lightning. Some of these forces can be destructive, but the "wind can help clean the air" and weather cools and heats our planet so it is just right for life.
In this book you'll get a glimpse at many different types of weather. You'll also learn about where the worst storms are in our solar system, you'll get to see homes that protect people from the elements, how animals protect themselves during storms, you learn some "weather words" and you'll even learn a few weather related jokes. "What did one lightning bolt say to the other?" You might know the answer already, but if you don't you'll have to read the book to find out.
This is an elementary look at weather and the forces of nature for the beginning reader. The reader may need some help deciphering a few of the words, but many like the word "hailstones" can be figured out by looking at the photographs. The photography is very appealing and will entice the reader more than the text.
