Wild Weather: Lightning (Hello Reader Science: Level 4) ReviewI thought this book was very well-illustrated for young children. The charts and tables and diagrams were easy to understand, and attracted interest in the text. This was an important book for me to read with my grandchildren because we live in New Mexico, where lightning is an almost daily event. As with the Floods book in this series, it features a female scientist and young girls in the illustrations, which really helps my granddaughters to relate to the information. The science is clear. My granddaughters really grasped the concepts, and could even use the book to observe our lightning storms. For example, the books says to close your eyes right after a lightning strike and you can see the pattern of the lightning, in miniature, on your eyelids.
