Macedonia ReviewI found this book to be well written and it did keep my attention; it just may not be my preferred genre or I may not have understood the author's intention. I enjoyed the short chapter format and found the characterization to be interesting. It is not a linear plot, but I did enjoy expanding my reading base with this novella.Macedonia OverviewA gang of street kids, an anonymous radio announcer, a detective from the future, a presidential assassination attempt and a frequently mistaken narrator all play a part in this jumble of introductions to an open-source novel inspired by the works of Macedonio Fernandez.

The Part Time People ReviewThis is a very odd short story that doesn't evoke much emotion beyond mild curiosity and confusion. The characters were peculiar and often inconsistent. You never truly understand any of them. The plot just seemed a little too obscure to grasp. I have no idea what the author was trying to say. I felt as if I just spent an hour aimlessly wandering around a stationery store without ever seeing anything interesting. The Part Time People OverviewDeBarrie's Stationery Store needed help again. Somehow, the part-time people never worked out. It was a problem. One after another, the part-time people came and went, and sometimes, nobody ever found out what happened to them. The newest one seemed even more hopeless than usual. His job application announced "there's a man who follows me around and ruins everything I try to do".

Hidden Highway (The Secret Trilogy) ReviewThe official product description on the product page does not give a good idea as to what this book is about. The official description makes this download sound like a magical fantasy adventure, which it is...but only to a certain extent. This story is actually only a conversation between two gossips, who relay some supernatural info to each other about people that they both know.
STORY - A certain motel sits in the middle on nowhere; it's only guests are either people who want total seclusion or people who are lost. Two of the hard workers in this motel, Roland and Josefa, take a break one night to gossip about the guests, workers, and ghosts in or around the motel. The true story of this download is within the gossip that these two workers relate to each other. By the end, a full story of magic and scheming has been told through all of the rumors that have been shared.
WRITING STYLE - The first thing that I have to mention about this author is unfortunately negative: he introduced WAY too many characters. There were so many names flying around in Roland's and Josefas's stories that they obviously both knew, but because the reader doesn't know these characters, all of the names get quite jumbled, and certain characters will get mixed up if the reader isn't taking notes on who's who.
However, despite the overpowering amount of characters introduced, the author definitely was not a bad writer at all! He kept the story going well throughout the entire download, never really losing momentum in the story. This isn't the only aspect of the author's storytelling that is well done, though; he also shows brilliantly how the many characters interact together and how they are related to each other. Really, the fact that this author can tell such an in depth story through one conversation is quite remarkable indeed.
Still, the fact that it's just one conversation in which the reader is constantly being reminded whether Roland or Josefa is speaking makes the story a bit choppy and ultimately slightly boring. By the end of the story, I was tired of seeing "Roland said" or "Josefa giggled." I just wanted the story and not all of the extraneous reactions of the two gossipers, because the story would have been much more fascinating without all of the breaks in between.
OVERALL - There are definite flaws with this download, but at the same time, the author gives us an interesting story and tells it to us well. Sure, he could have make it a little less choppy and taken out a few of the overabundant characters, but he still wrote a decent story. I'd recommend the story to a reader who is willing to somehow keep all of the characters separate; this probably isn't a good ebook for just a casual read-through, though. But as long as the reader can keep everything straight, I think this is quite an enjoyable fantasy story.
Hidden Highway (The Secret Trilogy) OverviewSharad LeMaster ran away from his own cult, and tried to hide from his followers by taking a desk job in a motel in the middle of nowhere, but when a certain lazy ghost from his past reappears, Sharad is lured into a haunted house and becomes the proud possession of the witch Eugenia, and gets caught between rival black-market magic-potion dealers in their fight over a girl who just happens to possess the most perfect skull ever for turning into a shrunken head.

World Weary Avengers (All Geeked Up) ReviewTom is a misanthropic techno-genius who whiles away his time at a bankrupt bookstore (and, later, as a panhandler) while plotting how to make the world better... or worse... or different... or the same. When his first attempt, to improve the world by shouting loud ideas to the right people at the right time, fails miserably, Tom falls into the sort of depression that mad scientists are made off. Can Tom, and the world, be saved?
There are a lot of things that are bad about this book. The characters act inconsistently, the plot seems to have been written at the seat of the author's pants, and there are the sort of copywriting issues you can expect from a self-published work. And yet...
And yet, I liked this book, gosh darn it. The opening pages were absurdly funny, and by the time the style changes, I was hooked. This novella is short, and the plot zips along. The premise and main character are so bizarre, there's something enjoyable about it. In other words, WORLD WEARY AVENGERS is my latest guilty pleasure.
If lines like "Just give me a call, oh, I forgot. You don't have a phone." make you smile, get this book - it's free, after all. But if hokey humor and absurdist plots make you groan, you're better up passing this one up.
World Weary Avengers (All Geeked Up) OverviewThe good folks at World Weary Avengers Incorporated had a simple idea - changing the world for the better by talking loudly in public. Seemed simple enough, but even with the help of the most sophisticated hand held device ever invented, some jobs are better not left to amateurs. You never know what kind of hell could break loose.

Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf (Stormy Weather) ReviewSo this is the last of the Cajun werewolf series :( But let me tell you I loved it!!
It follows Burke, the last of the Deveraux pack to find a mate. The story starts out with Burke escaping the "mate hunt" his pack seems to be on, but runs into a very interesting and injured woman, Kendall Carver. Because he's a gentleman, Burke of course helps her out (even though he has a rule about humans) but Kendall has some secrets of her own.
Ms Blake found a great way to bring all the Deverauxes back at the end to provide some good closer to the series & give fans an ending we can all enjoy. This is not one of the more racey books in the series like Bitten or Seduced, but it still leaves you steamy!! Great way to end the series!! Thanks Selena!!
Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf (Stormy Weather) OverviewThe wait is over.Questions will be answered. And one last storm will threaten Deveraux Pack.Kendall Carver knows one thing for sure - security doesn't last. Injured and on the run, a sinfully handsome stranger saves her life. Cajun werewolf Burke Devereux learned his lesson 200 years ago. No humans, ever. No looking, no touching, no kissing and certainly no making love. Eager to escape his Pack's matchmaking attempts he heads for his cabin. But nothing could have prepared him for the raging blizzard or the beautiful woman begging for his help.Burke's always prided himself on his self control but as things get cozy, desire sparks and old secrets are brought to light. He must decide how far he will go to protect her.ABOUT THE BOOKStormy Weather #5Paranormal Romance (werewolf, werecoyote, blizzard)40,000 wordsEXCERPTHer eyelashes fluttered for a moment and he held his breath, scrutinizing every tiny movement. Then those aqua eyes pegged him again and his breath came whooshing out. She looked totally out of it. Tired, sleepy, traumatized. But she didn't panic in his arms. Perhaps she didn't-“Are you an angel?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. Her question startled a laugh from him. Damn, it felt good to laugh. For a man who prided himself on his easy going nature, he'd been far too tense these last few months. “I've been called many things, but never an angel." I was the guy cursing at you as you almost ran me off the road. I'm the idiot who can't stop wondering who you are and what you're run-ning away from. And I'm the man who can't stop looking at your lips, wondering what they'll taste like.A hint of a smile curved her lips and she laid a hand over his heart. “A fallen angel?"
