Seduced by the Storm (ACRO, Book 3) ReviewI loved this book. This is about Wyatt and Faith who are both operatives on diffrent sides. They meet in a bar and have hot sex and when he is going to leave he touches her face and tells her he wishes she would remember him tomorrow because he has a sexual power that the women forget him the next day. He sees her again and she remembers him, oh its true love lol. But I like how she has other character stories going but Wyatt and Faith are still what this book is about and how they struggle to trust and love each other. There are some heart renching moments in this book. More from Creed and Anika which were awesome. Oh poor Dev, that all Ill say, cant give to many secrets away. Don't have to have read the other 2 in the series, but I definatly would recomend because they are just as good.
This series really is getting better with each book. You get such in dept characater development and then the on goings of Creed and Anika Yum!Seduced by the Storm (ACRO, Book 3) OverviewThey met in a steamy Florida bar—then spent a night of mind-bending passion. Total Eclipse (Weather Warden, Book 9) ReviewWARNING: This is the last Weather Warden novel. It's not the last one in this fictional universe, but it's the last of the books about Joanne Baldwin.
And while it's sad to see a solid urban fantasy series end, it's nice that Rachel Caine decided to end her story about elemental magic, djinns and Weather Wardens before it lost its zing. "Total Eclipse" is a satisfying ending to the series, with a higher-stakes problem and potentially fatal handicaps -- it's a bit shaky at first, but still an enjoyable, well-written ending.
The Djinn and Wardens have lost their magic. So the Wardens are helpless, and the Djinn are slowly dying; when they leave the black corner, all the Djinn except David just vanish. David believes that the Earth is wounded, waking up, and trying to heal itself -- every continent is being hit by wildlife attacks, vast wildfires and storms.
So not only are the Djinn and Oracles in danger of being drawn back into the Earth's power, but the entire human race is in danger. Fun, huh?
And as the little group zooms toward Whitney, things get worse -- people Joanne cares for are hurt and even killed, Oracles are acting out, and possessed Djinn are stalking them with intent to kill. And Joanne isn't sure that she can keep herself and her friends alive, let alone stop an all-out armageddon...
I honestly hate it when fantasy books depict Mother Nature as some kind of benevolent personification of fuzzy-bunny-love. Let's face it: nature is cruel, brutal, beautiful, and human beings really don't figure into its balance. "Total Eclipse" takes that into account -- and honestly, Nature running amuck makes a pretty awesome finale for the series.
It isn't a PERFECT finale -- the first half is too patchy and episodic, and it takes them eons just to DRIVE to Whitney. But as the story smooths out into a wild, terrifying expanse of terrestrial destruction, Caine's story expands into a truly brilliant, explosive finale where the stakes could literally not be any higher unless the sun exploded.
And despite all the mayhem, Caine keeps in the human (and Djinn) element -- there's some heated romance, moments of comedy (Joanne's almost sexual ecstacy when driving her car), a bit of horror (an invasion of chimera!), and a truly exquisite grand finale that wraps everything up beautifully.
And Joanne is shown off at her best here: desperate, good at heart, and being torn to shreds as she sees the world literally fall apart around her. She's literally doing her best all the time, while knowing that it won't be enough -- and yet she still stops to help save a little baby from being in the line of fire.
The Weather Wardens series goes out not with a whimper, but with a clap of thunder. The first half of "Total Eclipse" is a bit patchy, but the second half is a slam-bang finale worthy of Caine's skills.Total Eclipse (Weather Warden, Book 9) OverviewNew York Times bestselling author of the Morganville Vampires novels Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin, her husband, the djinn David, and the Earth herself have been poisoned by a substance that destroys the magic that keeps the world alive. The poison is destabilizing the entire balance of power, bestowing magic upon those who have never had it, and removing it form those who need it. It's just a matter of time before the delicate balance of nature explodes into chaos-and doom.

Firestorm (Weather Warden, Book 5) ReviewI like the "Weather Warden" series a lot, so I snatched this right up and read it basically straight through. It was good, but at the same time I started getting nervous for the next in the series.
You see, the lead character in this novel goes through, well, Hell. In places almost literally. I'm beginning to get the feeling that I got while reading the Fisherman series, where after a while I just couldn't take the punishment anymore. The lead character in that series just takes beating after beating both physically and mentally, until he's a morass of guilt and psychological pain-- and the novel dwells on it.
Likewise the novels of Laurell K. Hamilton, which have grown from great adventure/horror/romance into page after page of egotistical males jealously growling at each other, or unearthly faeries playing high-handed politics. For what seems like the entire novel. I can't read them anymore, because I just got sick of it after a while.
The reason I bring these other series into this review (and I realize that Ms. Caine should be so lucky as to have a career like Hamilton's) is because they are examples of the flaw in "Firestorm"-- they lack balance. The mystery, the adventure, the description of new places and things, gets short shrift in the face of the punishment of the protagonist or an obssession with one single facet of the nature of people.
There's a lot of deus ex machina in "Firestorm." The lead character doesn't seem to be able to get herself out of a scrape-- she's always rescued just when she can't go on, used her last erg of strength, by her lover David or her daughter Imara, or typical love-triangle plot-thickener Lewis.
Caine has introduced a new type of supernatural being, called an Oracle, which she seems very excited about in the dedication of the book, but perhaps all the details about Oracles got edited out. They basically function as a McGuffin-- something to chase after, but which you never get to know the truth about.
Overall, a good book and I really enjoy the characters. I just hope the next book regains some of its balance, some of the humor and adventure of the earlier novels in this series.Firestorm (Weather Warden, Book 5) OverviewThe genie is out of the bottle. Rogue Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin is racing to New York to warn her former colleagues of the impending apocalypse. An ancient agreement between the Djinn and the Wardens has been broken, and the furious Djinn, slaves to the Wardens for millennia, are now free of mortal control. With more than half the Wardens unaccounted for in the wake of the Djinn uprising, Joanne realizes that the natural disasters they've combated for so long were merely symptoms of restless Mother Nature fidgeting in her sleep. Now she's waking up - and she's angry ---This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Gale Force (Weather Warden, Book 7) ReviewOh, Jo, you're sinking low.
If I had to name a favorite series, I think Caine's Weather Warden would edge out Harrison's The Hollows (Rachel Morgan), and Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld. I love the characters, I love the pace, I love the world Caine has created and the things these stories make me think about.
So it is with heavy heart that I suggest that Caine is losing her way. Gale Force is the next chapter in the saga, and we get the usual cast of characters - Joanne with her penchant for fast cars and designer shoes, her copper-eyed omniscient lover David, the best friend Cherise, the creepy-but-cool Rahel, the ever-sexy Lewis, and on and on. A few old faces have cameos in this book.
Again, Jo and friends are faced with some mysterious force that is threatening the lives of wardens, djin, and the Mother Earth herself. Again, Jo is the epicenter of the chaos, the missing piece to every puzzle. Again, there are quiet, tender, funny moments between Jo and her David, as well as some of the other characters. And again, those tender moments lead to a monumental choice that threatens to tear the fabric of their lives apart, that shakes the unity of Jo and David, and leaves us witnessing our star-crossed lovers saying goodbye... again.
See, I understand that all series are going to feel formulaic to some extent. Same author, same characters, same world, different bad guy. The problem that is happening with the Warden series is, as the reader, I am starting to feel like I'm being played. Each time something catastrophic happens, we see it through Jo's pain, and we are supposed to feel it with her. But seriously, how many times can people be killed, wiped from existence (because only in a series like this, is death considered an inconvenience compared to what ELSE can happen), turned bad, before none of it seems to matter anymore?
What, a djin has been captured and enslaved, which was NEVER SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN EVER IN THIS WORLD AGAIN? Meh. Jo will kill them.
Joanne's decision has broken the bond between her and David, and they may never speak to each other again? Meh. Jo will fix it.
Where is this going? I feel like this series has been amping up for the final act for a few books now, and if a character death is what we are being prepared for, then please, Ms. Caine, do it before it's so late in the series that nobody cares. Because if this is going where I think it is, I want to care. I want to weep. I want to curl up with my book and hurt with those characters, and flip the pages feverishly to find out what happens next, which is what I used to do... about three "deaths" ago.
I love these characters, and I want to feel their loss when they're gone, so stop giving me cardboard cutout stories and get to the meat of it. Git 'er done.Gale Force (Weather Warden, Book 7) OverviewWeather Warden Joanne Baldwin is on vacation when her Djinn lover, David, asks Joanne to marry him. She's thrilled to say yes, even if some others may be less than happy about it. Unfortunately, Joanne's pre-marital bliss is ended by a devastating earthquake in Florida. And she can't ask David and his kind for assistance. Because the cause of the quake is unlike anything Joanne has ever encountered—and a power even the Djinn cannot perceive.

Chill Factor (Weather Warden, Book 3) ReviewChill Factor, the third installment of the Weather Warden series, is full of the non-stop action scenes and page-turning narrative that made Ill Wind and Heat Stroke riveting. Joanne Baldwin, Weather Warden, has been through a lot of things in a short period of time. She had been given a demon mark, gotten killed and reborn as a Djinn, only to return to her normal human form. Now she has to go after Kevin -- the troublemaker teenager that made her Djinn existence a living hell in Heat Stroke. He is in Las Vegas with powerful Djinn Jonathan. Jonathan wants to find missing Djinn, and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and that includes taking advantage of the powers that Kevin had stolen from Lewis. But Rachel hadn't expected coming across a secret anti-Warden organization. She also hadn't expected the twists that transpire between her and her Djinn lover David. There are many twists throughout the novel.
This novel is a roller coaster ride of action coupled with twists and turns that kept me riveted until the end. Many things happen in this third book -- things that make me understand some of the characters better. Lewis is finally developed in this installment. His behavior in the previous two books makes more sense to me. Marion is also further developed in this installment. She is a more dimensional character this time around. The other characters -- namely Jonathan, Kevin and Rahel -- are dark and have very obscure personalities. You don't know whether they are good or bad. I am sure they are intended to be that way. Joanne continues to be the young, fun, sassy heroine who loves fast cars, fast men and the latest fashion trends. She manages to maintain her spunk during the most chaotic scenes. She is one of the best heroines I've read in books of this genre. The Weather Warden series has become a favorite of mine. This series gets better with each installment and I cannot wait for the release of Windfall.Chill Factor (Weather Warden, Book 3) Overview

Cape Storm (Weather Warden, Book 8) ReviewThis eighth book in the Weather Warden saga (not counting Undone, which uses the same universe but is not about Joanne and David), is much better than the last one, which almost turned me off the series. In this book Joanne and and her Djinn lover David are married, but have no time to honeymoon. The demonic Bad Bob has unleashed not only a killer storm off Miami, but a world-killer storm on the aetheric. All the regular characters return in this book, and they are at their best. The action is intense and never stops--I read this in one sitting, couldn't put it down. Joanne is back to being one of the better kick-butt heroines in supernatural fiction, after a few books where she kind of lost her mojo.
If you haven't read the other books in this series yet, do so before picking up this one, or you'll be lost and missing out on lots of great backstory. Without including spoilers in this review, it seems as if this might be the last book in the series, although that's not a given. If it isn't, things will be going in a new direction, and I'll buy the next book the day that it comes out.Cape Storm (Weather Warden, Book 8) OverviewCheck the forecast for the series that's "an addictive force of nature that will suck you in ." (News and Sentinel)Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin and her new husband, the Djinn David, are running from a malevolent hurricane bent on destroying her. Joined by an army of fellow Wardens and Djinn onboard a hijacked luxury liner, Joanne has lured the storm into furious pursuit. Ill Wind (Weather Warden, Book 1) ReviewIf you are looking for an entertaining book to help you pass a dragging afternoon, this one might be it. Don't expect deep meanings or complicated character introspection, just lots of action-packed fun, lots of magic, a decent mystery and a very likable lead character -- which is better than I could say about many urban fantasy stories out there. Joanne is a Weather Warden with a big problem: she is running a race against time to rid herself of a Demon Mark inflicted on her by her former, corrupted boss. The mark is like a parasite: if she doesn't get rid of it fast, it will pervert her power and turn it into something impossible to control. If the other wardens get to her first, she will lose all her power, if not her life. The alternative is to pass the mark on to somebody else, preferably a djinn, and condemn him or her to a life of eternal torment. She thinks she knows her choices, but in fact she has no idea what her choices really are. As the story unfolds, friends and enemies become no longer easily distinguishable, even more so when willing friends are forced to turn into unwilling enemies. The one person that might have the key to it is nowhere to be found and doesn't seem that friendly after all.
If the plot structure sounds well-known to you, is because you've already encountered it (Jim Butcher's "Dresden files" series springs to mind, to give but an example). Hopefully, that won't prevent you from checking out the book: it makes good on its promises, with a nice twist at the end. If Harry Dresden charmed the readers with his dry wit and inborn talent of making a mess of just about everything, Joanne will appeal to the readers (some readers, anyway) with her disarming honesty about her likes and dislikes. Frankly, I found it quite refreshing to come across a female character that fantasizes freely about men, enjoys fast cars and sexy cloths, and is not ashamed to admit it. The djinns are a nice and less explored alternative to vampires, werewolves and fey creatures (all of which seem to me quite over-used nowadays). Generally, the characters of the story didn't have too much "texture" and appeared a bit too simplistic for my taste - but hey, there's plenty room for future development. On the whole, the action is very nicely paced, with just the right amount of suspense and magical deeds. In short, a promising beginning and a definite page-turner.Ill Wind (Weather Warden, Book 1) Overview

Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, Book 2) ReviewJo was once a weather warden, helping to protect humanity from the wrath of Mother Nature. But at the end of the first book Jo is killed. David, a powerful djinn, manages to resurrect her as a djinn. Jo now must leave all things human behind and learn how to be a djinn.
But it is not that simple. She is still linked to David and draining his power. She must learn to harness power on her own. Meanwhile something strange is going on in the ethereal plane and it has David scared.
Jo is then assigned to study with Patrick, the only successful human-to-djinn transformation. And then the action really begins.
Unlike the first book which starts with Jo on the run, this one starts more slowly and it is quite a few pages before the action begins. But once it begins it does not stop. As the story races along we learn about the origins of the djinn, ifrit, what is going on in the ethereal plane, the meaning of servitude, more of how djinn work, and some of the limitations of the wardens. In the end we are left with a satisfying conclusion but also a cliffhanger for the next volume (it can't be released soon enough).
More action like in the first book but with greater depth to the world of the wardens and djinn. A great follow-up to the first and definitely not the last.Heat Stroke (Weather Warden, Book 2) OverviewMistaken for a murderer, Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin is hunted down and killed by her colleagues. Reborn as a Djinn, she senses something sinister entering earth's atmosphere-something that makes tomorrow's forecast look deadly.

Thin Air (Weather Warden, Book 6) ReviewFirst of all, it took me about three hours to get through this book. That's short even by my standards.
The good: Continues where Firestorm left off, lots of action, and an overall well-paced read. There was little lag time, and Ms. Caine makes her characters very interesting. I actually care about them. We got some cute backstories, more info on Venna (Alice, the Djinn), and the final reunion of Joanne with the Wardens (the constant on the run from everyone including her former employers was getting a bit old). The idea was fresh, at least to me, in that chunks of the story were told from the point of view of memories; it was a creative idea. The Sarah storyline was handled in an interesting manner, I'm curious how it plays out later on. It kind of came from nowhere, but provided an intriguing twist.
The mediocre: There are times where I scratch my head and go "huh?" at some of the events in this book (and others in the series). The "evil twin" concept didn't work too well for me, it just feels cliche. The storytelling keeps this from being too much of a negative, though.
The bad: There is always a bad, and in this case it's that Ms. Caine is falling into the LK Hamilton mode of deus ex machina. How convenient that the now-deceased Imara is the new Earth Oracle. How convenient that this results in Joanne getting Earth Warden powers at just the right time. How convenient that she is now the second most powerful person in the world. And how convenient that the Djinn who like her break away from the Djinn who mostly do not. It's things like this which bug me. Does Joanne need more powers? She is a take-no-grief character who started out as a Weather Warden, died, became a Djinn, was reborn, gained Fire Warden abilities, has several Djinn actively assisting her at every turn, and is now an Earth Warden, making her only the second triple-threat to exist. I hope Joanne doesn't go the way of Anita Blake and find new powers in every book. She doesn't need them, she is an amazing character all on her own.Thin Air (Weather Warden, Book 6) OverviewAfter preventing Mother Earth from destroying the planet, Joanne Baldwin lost her memories thanks to Ashan the djinn-and they will remain lost forever unless Joanne can recover her identity-and destroy the demon who is impersonating her, fabulous shoes and all...

Windfall (The Weather Warden, Book 4) ReviewJoanne Baldwin has had a tough time in this series. She started out on the run, died, became a Djinn, became human again and linked to David in a way that will spell their destruction. Now Joanne is in Florida as a morning weatherman's assistant (read that as comic relief) and is trying to rebuild her life now that she is no longer a Warden and no longer Dead. But things just won't let her rest.
Joanne's boss is too luck predicting the weather. The powers that be think Joanne is tampering with the weather. David has almost completely degenerated into an iffrit. Head Djinn Jonathan wants her to cure David or else. Joanne's sister is in trouble and crashing at her place. A cop if following Joanne around. And then things get bad and complicated. Joanne's past is catching up to her. The death of Quinn in Las Vegas has long arms. The Djinn are now tired of the rule of Jonathan and slavery to the humans. War is breaking out and Joanne is always right in the middle of things.
Well, the story of Joanne and David finally sees a form of resolution but the ending, combined with the excerpt of book five, shows us that things are not going to calm down for awhile. Joanne loves fast and powerful cars and her life seems to parallel that love. Interludes between the chapters provide some much-needed information about the way the world works although it takes a while to be obvious. All in all a fast-paced read that stands well with the rest of the series (now if I didn't have to wait a year for the next one). If you have been enjoying the series, this one will not let you down.Windfall (The Weather Warden, Book 4) OverviewWeather Warden Joanne Baldwin's stormy personal life is taking its toll on her patience-and her powers. Somehow, he had to get out of here. His business was rapped up. The sale was going to go through. Sebastian would be pleased. Negotiating the throng of people, he wondered what they would do once they were no longer the owners of Deveraux Shipping. For the last decade they'd thrown themselves into their business and for a time it had made their bachelorhood tolerable. But lately there had been a gnawing at André's gut reminding him that there was more to life than making money.Maybe he'd travel. He'd never been to Canada or Antarctica. Maybe a world cruise was in order. He'd definitely have to consider that once he got back to Louisiana. As he stepped up to the car rental counter, he caught a whiff of perfume mixed with warm, alluring woman. But it was distinctively werewolf too. The delicious scent teased his memory, tormenting him.Man, he had it worse than he thought. White hot lust coursed through his veins and his cock twitched to life. Just being in the same part of the country and he was thinking he could smell her-“What do you mean you have no other cars? As in none?" A feminine voice floated down the expanse to him. There was a trace of accent, French, and a barely controlled panic. His head swiveled left toward the sound, and he caught sight of the woman in all her furious glory. A mane of long mahogany waves cascaded over her shoulders. The silky strands made his fingers itch to sweep them from her face. His gaze swooped lower, taking in the sophisticated charcoal gray dress that hugged her tall curvy frame like denim fresh from the dryer. Her legs, pale and bare of pantyhose, went on for miles. She wore ultra-sexy, black leather heels. And her toes, dear God, the perfectly painted red polish did crazy things to his mind.At the same moment, his body tensed and his heart dropped. He knew the woman without having to look at her face. She'd have wide blue eyes, a perfect nose-minus the old break-and ruby red lips. She was pretty without being overly beautiful. Her special blend of quiet assurance and subtle seduction could have a man eating out of the palm of her hand with a single lick of her lips.André knew that, knew her, all too well. Juliette Vassar was the one woman in all of Savannah, non'the world, that he'd hoped to avoid on this trip. He'd sworn to himself that he would not search her out and yet here she was. Were the stars in alignment? Were the Fates playing tricks on him?She flicked her hair over her shoulder, showing off the creamy column of her neck. He swallowed a groan and slowly traced the profile he knew so well.

The Cajun's Captive (Stormy Weather) ReviewSebastian Deveraux the Alpha of his pack . He has waited a decade for just the right woman for his mate, but none never made him feel the way Amanda had. Amanda was very young and felt scared for what she felt for Sebastian, so she went on to college and lived a very successful life in New York. Now, she has returned because she thought Sebastian sent something to her but it wasn't him.
I didn't feel any excitement, but it was just ok for me. Sebastian seem sexy and nice but his Alpha was off. I love the cave man act now and then but with a little more to it. Amanda, I don't know really, i thought she could have been a bit more than no no let me go and i thought you sent me flowers that's why i came here. I think a better reason may have helped the story (i personally think), but i don't think we even know who sent the flowers in question. At one point I thought the book was leaning to a menage because Amanda keeps fantasizing about his brothers or it seem insinuated she could like more than one brother, so that confused me a bit as well.
With that said, i was split in the middle with this book, i found it ok but was not fully satisfied. Storyline: OK
Intimacy:FAIR
Enjoyment: OK
***********************************************************The Cajun's Captive (Stormy Weather) OverviewSebastian Deveraux is the Alpha of his pack and like all the Deveraux men, he's sexy as pure sin. He's waited for decades for just the right woman. For his mate. And ten years ago he'd been sure he'd found her in Amanda St. James. But she'd run from him.Now she's back. He'll do anything to keep her. Even if it means tying her to his bed.Excerpt from Chapter One“You should go after her," his brother ventured.“It wasn't meant to be."“Are you still buying into that stars aligning crap? Mon Dieu. Enough already, mon frere. If you want her, you must go get her. Make her listen to reason. Find out why she ran. Bring her back and make her yours." Andre's voice rang with emotion. He almost sounded like he, himself, had been in love. Painfully, completely... and lost her. “Tie her up if you have to."A sharp sound outside caught his attention. Not thunder, nor rain. Something else. A low growl sounded from the hallway.“Jules is up," Sebastian said and headed toward the sound. Even though he saw nothing out of place, he knew that the walls around his estate didn't keep out reporters, tourists, and the occasional woman, desperate for a wealthy husband. His sharper wolf senses took over as he slipped into his bedroom and looked around. It was just as he'd left it. He saw nothing but rain through the window, but his keen ears could hear someone breathing. He exited his room and moved toward the front of the house. His brother, Jules-still in furry form-was in the large foyer.“You take the back," Sebastian told him and headed for the front door. The wide front porch wrapped all the way around the house and he quickly made his way to far side that ran the length of his bedroom. The rain beat on the roof above his head, drowning out his footsteps. The blonde peering into his bedroom window never heard him approach.“Can I help you?" he asked mildly when he was within pouncing distance. Shrieking, she whirled to face him, backing up at the same time. Her hands came up to balance herself, but it was too late. He made no move to rescue her even though he could have. Her momentum toppled her over the railing and into the soggy grass below. She landed flat on her back. From the edge of the porch, he stared down at her not feeling the least bit sorry for startling her. What did a man have to do to get privacy? Her wheat colored hair covered her face and the rain slowly soaked her clothes. She seemed too startled to move. Finally, she eased up on her elbows. Her breasts heaved and fell as if she might start crying. The last thing he wanted was a crying woman. Or a lawsuit.“You all right?"With a perfectly polished hand, she flicked her hair out of her face and glared up at him. The blue eyes that locked with his couldn't have surprised him more if there'd been eight of them.(This story was previously released by Cobblestone Press.)

Bitten in the Bayou (Stormy Weather) ReviewSelena Blake kicks up the heat in the already hot bayou. The delicious Deveraux brothers make the best sandwiches; and gumbo. So; a cabin in the woods, a storm brewing and two very hot cajuns that know how to push all the right buttons. Buttons that cause Angelica's fanstasies to become reality, and what a way to get real. Lots of hot sex but they're also protecting their female from an unsavory ex-boyfriend. These books could be 900 pages and it still wouldn't be long enough, so I just have to hold on to my tongue until the next one. Good thing Selena always comes through. Not only won't you be disappointed but you'll have a big smile on your face. Read them all.Bitten in the Bayou (Stormy Weather) OverviewJules and Andre Deveraux have been hired to find wildlife photographer Angelica Humphrey. She's lost somewhere in the Louisiana bayou and there's a hurricane brewing.Angelica has never met anyone like Jules or Andre and she's instantly attracted. But she doesn't have time to act on her desire because she has to get away from the ex-boyfriend who stalks her. They take her back to their cabin, offering her protection and shelter from the storm. But Angelica quickly finds herself falling under their spell and they happily show her that if one Deveraux is good, two are infinitely better.(This title was previously released by another publisher.)ABOUT BITTEN IN THE BAYOUStormy Weather - Book 2Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance - menage, werewolf, erotic, bayouWordcount: 15,000 (approximately 50 pages)Excerpt“What do they call this color, André?" Jules' unexpected question confused her. His eyes flicked over the top of her head.“Strawberry blonde?" the other man replied. He sounded like he was right behind her. She turned her head and saw him out of the corner of her eye. Only a foot or so separated her back from his front. She'd be lying if she said their nearness didn't affect her. Excite her just a little. She'd traveled the world, and though she'd always had her lens zoomed in on animals, she'd kept an eye out for Mr. Right. Or Mr. Hot-n-Sexy. She'd never come across a man so worthy of being photographed. A man so gorgeous he could steal her breath. One who had an animal magnetism that was usually reserved for movie stars.Until now.And there were two of them, she thought, feeling rather dreamy despite the fact that she was sinking into the mud.“Right," Jules murmured, drawing her attention back to him. “Strawberry blonde. I love strawberries, don't you André?"His tone was so seductive, so husky, Angelica's insides melted. Her hardened nipples brushed against his chest, and she knew she should back away from him. Get as far away from these men as she could.“Mmm, hmm."“So juicy. And sweet," Jules whispered in her ear. A little thrill raced through her as his breath warm caressed her wet skin. When he straightened and actually licked his lips, she was sure he was going to kiss her.Angelica found strength she didn't know she had and took a step back. Self-preservation. She had to get out of this swamp. Away from William. No matter how seductive these men were. Her back hit something strong and solid. Not a tree. André.Large hands clamped over her hips, and a squeak of alarm escaped her lips.“What's wrong, chérie?" Jules stepped toward her, his hands capturing hers. He breathed on them, letting his hot breath chase away the chill.“No-nothing." She shook her head. When he looked up at her through those long, black eyelashes, Angelica realized she was a goner. They'd completely and utterly seduced her with their heated looks, sexy accent, and tender touch. “Is William still in town?" she found herself asking.Jules tensed for just a second before he shrugged those strong shoulders. “Dunno."“Does it matter?" André asked.“He's a dangerous man." Her voice shook more than she wanted.Jules' jaw worked back and forth, and his hazel eyes darkened to match the stormy sky. “Don't worry, chérie. We'll protect you."

Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf (Stormy Weather) ReviewSo this is the last of the Cajun werewolf series :( But let me tell you I loved it!!
It follows Burke, the last of the Deveraux pack to find a mate. The story starts out with Burke escaping the "mate hunt" his pack seems to be on, but runs into a very interesting and injured woman, Kendall Carver. Because he's a gentleman, Burke of course helps her out (even though he has a rule about humans) but Kendall has some secrets of her own.
Ms Blake found a great way to bring all the Deverauxes back at the end to provide some good closer to the series & give fans an ending we can all enjoy. This is not one of the more racey books in the series like Bitten or Seduced, but it still leaves you steamy!! Great way to end the series!! Thanks Selena!!
Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf (Stormy Weather) OverviewThe wait is over.Questions will be answered. And one last storm will threaten Deveraux Pack.Kendall Carver knows one thing for sure - security doesn't last. Injured and on the run, a sinfully handsome stranger saves her life. Cajun werewolf Burke Devereux learned his lesson 200 years ago. No humans, ever. No looking, no touching, no kissing and certainly no making love. Eager to escape his Pack's matchmaking attempts he heads for his cabin. But nothing could have prepared him for the raging blizzard or the beautiful woman begging for his help.Burke's always prided himself on his self control but as things get cozy, desire sparks and old secrets are brought to light. He must decide how far he will go to protect her.ABOUT THE BOOKStormy Weather #5Paranormal Romance (werewolf, werecoyote, blizzard)40,000 wordsEXCERPTHer eyelashes fluttered for a moment and he held his breath, scrutinizing every tiny movement. Then those aqua eyes pegged him again and his breath came whooshing out. She looked totally out of it. Tired, sleepy, traumatized. But she didn't panic in his arms. Perhaps she didn't-“Are you an angel?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. Her question startled a laugh from him. Damn, it felt good to laugh. For a man who prided himself on his easy going nature, he'd been far too tense these last few months. “I've been called many things, but never an angel." I was the guy cursing at you as you almost ran me off the road. I'm the idiot who can't stop wondering who you are and what you're run-ning away from. And I'm the man who can't stop looking at your lips, wondering what they'll taste like.A hint of a smile curved her lips and she laid a hand over his heart. “A fallen angel?"
