The Magic School Bus Lost in the Snow (Scholastic Reader, Level 2) ReviewMy kids love anything from the Magic School Bus collection and this one is especially fun. Very colorful and detailed and a good choice for young readers. This is a good book for early readers and would be about a level 2.The Magic School Bus Lost in the Snow (Scholastic Reader, Level 2) OverviewMs. Frizzle's class is on its way to learn how snow is made. They take a wild ride into the clouds and get to float down on snowflakes. The Magic School Bus Inside A Hurricane ReviewI'm a kid and watch the Magic School Bus on TV. The books are even better! When Arnold gets lost in a hurricane on one of Ms.Frizzle's wacky field trips, the kids need to know the parts of a hurricane to find him. I thought it was creative and funny to include a radio that knew everything and could dance. By the time Ms.Frizzle's class goes on the real field trip, they have become experts on hurricanes. The weather team is amazed at the intelligence of the students. This book is great because it's not like those other books that lag on and on about one subject without any excitment. The Magic School Bus books make subjects like hurricanes, fun to learn about . I liked how the kids knew more than the weather team. I give this book two thumbs up!!!!!!!!!The Magic School Bus Inside A Hurricane Overview

Wild About Weather: 50 Wet, Windy & Wonderful Activities ReviewMy son, age 9, is a weather buff. He has several books on weather that he looks at often, but this one is his favorite. He has learned so much from this book and he loves the color photos throughout the book. It even inspired him to take his own cloud photos.Wild About Weather: 50 Wet, Windy & Wonderful Activities OverviewNew in PaperWith its humorous approach, fascinating facts, great pictures, and cool projects, there's no better introduction to the often wacky world of weather than this. It covers all the ins and out of how weather works: atmosphere and air pressure; sunshine, rain, storms, and wind; and strange phenomena. Travel the globe to examine different climates and systems. Check out wild weather phenomena, including tornadoes and hurricanes. Keep a weather log, and make a real barometer, thermometer, and wind vane. Every chapter has a "Forecaster's Corner" that children can use to make their own accurate forecasts and a "Weather Challenge" sidebar. All this, and weather lore, quotes, and statistics will get (and keep) kids' attention.

The Magic School Bus Kicks Up A Storm: A Book About Weather ReviewMy 4 year old son fell in love with the earlier books in this series - Hurricane, Ocean Floor, Electricity, Human body, Water Works, Bees. They are rich in detail, and are very engaging for young exploring minds. This one (MSB Kicks Up a Storm) pales by comparison. Not nearly as much detail. Lacks the quality of illustrations and side-commentary that make the earlier ones so special. This is a run-of-the-mill kids book with nothing much to distinguish it. I have read elsewhere that this series took a downturn when it became a TV show. It certainly reads like a comic-book version of a TV show. Take my son's advice - stick with the earlier books in the Magic School Bus series. The Magic School Bus Kicks Up A Storm: A Book About Weather OverviewA book about weather, from the animated television series on the Learning Channel.
